Privacy Policy
In short: to use our web tools you sign in with an email address (or Google or GitHub), and we keep what’s needed to run your account: your email, your token balance and history, and the designs you download for a short time. Payments are handled by PayPal and Stripe — we never see your card details. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and our web tools contain no analytics or tracking.
1. Who we are
Myerchin Enterprises Inc., operating as Cheap CAD Tools, makes browser-based CAD tools and CAD add-ins. This policy covers our website at cheapcadtools.com, our web tools (such as the pulley designer), and our CAD add-ins.
2. Information we collect
Your account
Downloading files from our web tools needs a free account. When you create one we keep:
- Your email address — to identify your account, send sign-in links and send account notices.
- How you sign in. You can sign in with a one-time link emailed to you, or with your Google or GitHub account. If you choose Google or GitHub, we receive only your account ID with that service and your verified email address — never your password, contacts or anything else.
- Your signed-in sessions — for each browser or device: when it signed in, when it was last used, and the browser name, so you can see and sign out sessions you don’t recognize.
- Connected add-ins and AI agents — if you connect one, the name you give it, its daily token limit and the tokens it has used.
Tokens and purchases
- Your token history — tokens you were given or bought, and each download you paid for (the file type, the date and a reference to the design). This is how your balance is worked out.
- Purchase records — which pack you bought, the amount, and the payment provider’s order and payment IDs.
- Payment details stay with the payment provider. Token packs are paid through PayPal or Stripe. You enter your card or PayPal details on their pages, not ours; we never see or store card numbers. PayPal and Stripe send their own receipts and handle your payment under their own privacy policies.
Your designs and downloads
- Design parameters. To make a file, the design’s settings (for example tooth count, bore and pitch) are sent to our servers. To let one purchase cover every file type of the same design for 24 hours, we keep the design’s settings with your account for 30 days.
- Generated files are kept for one hour so you can download them, then deleted.
- Files contain their design. Every file you download has the design’s settings embedded in it, so it can be re-opened and edited in our tools. If you share a file, the settings travel with it. They don’t include your name or email.
Preventing abuse
We use your IP address to limit how many sign-in emails can be requested and how many new accounts on one network receive free starter tokens each day. Sign-in link records (email address and IP address) are deleted after 24 hours; the new-account count keeps only a one-way scrambled form (hash) of the network address, also for 24 hours.
Emails we send
Sign-in links you ask for; notices about your account — a reminder at least 30 days before an unused account is closed and its tokens expire (see section 7), and a notice when a connected add-in reaches its daily limit; and replies to your messages. We don’t send marketing email.
Bug reports (voluntary)
If you report a problem from one of our tools, we receive your description, the tool’s state at the time (including the design you were working on) and, if you choose to give it, your email address so we can follow up. A summary of the problem may be filed in our private bug tracker on GitHub; your email address and design are not included there.
Website analytics
Our website (cheapcadtools.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — for example which pages are visited, the type of device and browser, and approximate location. It uses cookies to do this (see section 3). Our web tools and add-ins do not use analytics.
Server logs
Like any web service, our servers record each request: the IP address, browser type, the time and the address requested — which, for a download, can include the design’s settings. We use these logs to keep the service running and secure; they are deleted after 30 days.
Data kept on your computer
Some of our products keep settings or history files on your computer (such as your last-used settings). These never leave your computer and can be removed through the product or by uninstalling it.

We don’t use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the web tools need the sign-in cookie to let you download.
4. How we use your information
Only to provide and improve our products: running your account and token balance, making your files, taking payments, preventing abuse, answering support requests and bug reports, and keeping the financial records the law requires. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
5. Service providers
We use these companies to run our services. Each receives only what it needs for its task.

6. How long we keep data

7. Unused accounts and token expiry
- Tokens last as long as you sign in at least once every 5 years. The same rule applies to every token, free or bought.
- After 5 years without a sign-in, the account is closed: its personal details are deleted and any tokens left in it expire.
- We email you at least 30 days before that happens, saying how many tokens are affected. Signing in resets the clock; or ask for a refund of the unused tokens you bought before the closing date (see our Terms of Service, section 4).
- Free tokens — the 20 new accounts start with, and any promotions — are used before the ones you buy, and can’t be refunded.
8. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@cheapcadtools.com from the account’s address, or from your account page where available. We delete your email address and sign-in methods straight away and sign out every browser and add-in; the remaining session records and saved design settings are removed within 30 days. Two things remain, without anything that identifies you: the token and purchase records we must keep for accounting, and a one-way scrambled form (hash) of your email address, kept only so that re-registering the same address doesn’t earn the free starter tokens again. Ask for a refund of any unused purchased tokens before or when you delete the account — see section 4 of our Terms of Service; tokens left in a deleted account can no longer be used or refunded.
9. Security
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in links, sessions and add-in tokens are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so a copy of our database couldn’t be used to sign in. Access to our systems is restricted, and our database provider keeps backups so data can be restored after a failure.
10. Where your data is processed
Our services run in the United States. If you use them from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Children
Our products are engineering tools not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or object to how we use it. To use any of these rights, email info@cheapcadtools.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always at cheapcadtools.com/privacy-policy, with its effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
